Carson Must Have Had an Act of God

Right Wing Watch sets the wayback machine for 2013, when Ben Carson appeared on Rick Wiles’ TruNews radio show (proving once again that there is no one too fringe). And he told Wiles that he had no intention of running for president, that it would take “an act of God” to get him to run.

Ben Carson, who officially launched a campaign for the presidency today, said in an interview on the End Times radio program “Trunews” in March 2013 that “it would take an act of God” for him to run for public office.

So tell us, Ben, what was the act of God that made you decide to run?

There was a “blood moon”. And a “supermoon”. And an eclipse. And the curse of the mummy hasn’t struck.

  • John Pieret

what was the act of God that made you decide to run?

God made a large segment of American voters morons?

  • Deacon Duncan

In Judges 6, God speaks to Gideon by means of a fleece, and tells him to go forth and lead Israel in rebellion. My guess would be that Carson read that passage and God spoke to him and said America was ripe for a good fleecing too.

John Pieret “God made a large segment of American voters morons?”

The prefered nomenclature is “Values Voters”.

Also, +1 internet to Deacon Duncan.

  • D. C. Sessions

Modus, it takes one to know one. Biblically speaking, that is.

Mark the day, folks: Wednesday, May 6, 2015, when Modusoperandi’s garage, basement, and attic were completely filled with Internets and he had to start giving away the overflow.

He had to run. The persecution of Christians was getting out of hand. He couldn’t sit idly and let Christianity be outlawed by cake.

So tell us, Ben, what was the act of God that made you decide to run?

Maybe one of his advisors found a legal loophole that allows more than the usual amount of campaign funds to go directly into the hip pocket.

  • roggg

Of course there was an act of God. Has there been a republican candidate in the last 2 or 3 elections that HASN’T been specifically instructed by God to run?

  • busterggi

Yahweh told him a token negro was needed for the GOP.

  • basementmatt

It was an act of In God We Trust.

  • dan4

@11: “…a token negro…” Paul Blart, Mall Cop, and now Busterggi, Racist Bastard.

Paul Blart, Mall Cop, and now Busterggi, Racist Bastard.

I hadn’t heard that calling an Uncle Tom an “Uncle Tom” was racist.

  • dan4

@14: Ben Carson isn’t a liberal Democrat. To the Dan J’s of the world, that’s bullshit “evidence” that Carson is an “Uncle Tom.”

  • dingojack

Dan – Are those nasty people using irony and sarcasm again, and getting you all confused?

Never mind dear, have a couple of analgesics and nice lie-down with a cold compress on your brow…

Dan4 – that is. We wouldn’t want to confuse the poor thing any further now, would we?

Dingo @ 16: I’ve never known dan4 to have the capacity for irony or sarcasm.

Hey dan4, is Alan Keyes an Uncle Tom?
