Michael Savage Still Spouting KKK Rhetoric

When Michael Savage appears on the Alex Jones show, you know there is some weapons-grade bullshit on the way. Savage is still using standard KKK/white supremacist rhetoric about the impending “race war,” with the added idiocy that Obama is going to arm the Crips and the Bloods and use them as his army.

Remember my last book, ‘Stop the Coming Civil War’? Guess what, it started. Has there been a civil war? Yea, it’s a slow burning civil war. What do you think we are looking at here? It’s a race war. These are their shock troops, they don’t have the brown shirts yet, they don’t have the armbands, but soon Obama could deputize them. Isn’t that a natural army for him? Take the Crips and the Bloods, give them a green uniform and give them a weapon and they’ll keep order in the streets. Won’t they?

Later in the program, Savage said that Obama has “got the gangs on the streets on his side” and “he’s got them armed.”

“You’re going to see more race war right up until the Labor Day of 2016 for an obvious reason,” he said, alluding to the next election. He claimed that Obama won’t declare martial law or force people into internment camps just yet because “they’re going to take the street garbage and they’re going to take the illegal immigrants and they’re going to warp the entire election.”

You’d think a Jewish person would be especially wary of repeating white supremacist rhetoric, wouldn’t you?

Yea, it’s a slow burning civil war.

Wingnut Babelfish: Yeah, it didn’t happen as I predicted but never mind and just “be afraid, be very afraid!”

  • colnago80

Somehow the urban riots in the 1960s which I remember well didn’t lead to a civil war. How about that.

  • cottonnero

“The Crips and Bloods will work together” is up there with “The muslims and gays are working together to take away your freedoms”.

  • eric

“they’re going to take the street garbage and they’re going to take the illegal immigrants and they’re going to warp the entire election.”

Wingnut-to-English translation; “Hilary looks like she has a pretty good shot of winning, and this upsets me.”

  • John Pieret

Obama has “got the gangs on the streets on his side” and “he’s got them armed

Um … just who is it that wants every American to own one or (many) more guns? Oh, wait, brown people aren’t True Americans™, are they?

Wow. They don’t even hide behind dogwhistles anymore. This is one step away from going back to shouting the N-word.

  • anubisprime

Anyone who buys that nonsense completely is really in need of institutional care.

I wonder if deep down that trait in the xtian / rightwing character is what fuels their hysterical paranoia over FEMA camps…they know they are all mentally sick and fear being treated and losing their delusions…but because there is so many of them that can only be done in a camp where the focus is placed on therapeutic work to keep them sanguine.

Above the gateway there might even be a little plaque with text that provides inspirational thoughts for the day…something like ‘work making them free’

Not only the Crips and Bloods, but the Rogues, Turnbulls, Lizzies, and Boyle Avenue Runners are gonna invite the Warriors to come out and plaaaaay. It’s gonna be nas-tay!

    @3, cottonnero

Savage may be an ignorant idiot, but that seems a terrible rebuttal. Larry Wilmore did an interview last week or so; apparently, the crisis in Baltimore is indeed prompting Crips and Bloods to come to peace, at least temporarily, of some, and in that city. There’s quite a few more incredible steps to Savage’s paranoid fantasy; however, it would seem that picking the one that (howsoever surprisingly) is actually happening as the basis to discredit him is a choice that risks a major backfire effect.

Can’t you just see Savage & Jones clambering up onto rooftops, to bellow “Nugatory!!1!” at all below?

Not if he or she is a conservative arsehole.

  • dmcclean

Later in the program, Savage said that Obama has “got the gangs on the streets on his side” and “he’s got them armed.”

God forbid he had them disarmed, of course, because that would be even more evil…

Savage is a second generation Russian Jew. This is exactly what I’d expect Russian Jews tend to be horrifyingly racist. (More because of the Russian part. Given the persecution in Russia, it is odd though.)

  • sugarfrosted

should be a semicolon after “expect” phone ate it.

  • caseloweraz

Savage: Remember my last book, ‘Stop the Coming Civil War’? Guess what, it started.

So, Savage is confessing he’s a failure at peacemaking?

    Or better yet, “niggardly.”

(You probably all remember this, but I’ll repeat it anyway: There was a real case of a teacher who got into trouble for using the word “niggardly.” I think it was in Maryland, but I could be wrong about that.)

  • caseloweraz

Savage: “they’re going to take the street garbage and they’re going to take the illegal immigrants and they’re going to warp the entire election.”

The way this guy repeatedly rams his foot into his mouth, it’s a wonder he has any teeth left.

@13. sugarfrosted : “Savage is a second generation Russian Jew. This is exactly what I’d expect Russian Jews tend to be horrifyingly racist. “

Um, hang on a sec! Isn’t saying group X are all bad kinda racist in itself even when that’s because you think group X – in this case Russian Jews – are bad because they are racist? There must be exceptions to that stereotype surely and is it really fair of you to blame Savage’s racist comments on him being Jewish and Russian as though that’s what’s responsible not Savage as an individual?

  • StevoR

Isaac Asimov was a Russian Jew and provides a very powerful counter-argument if you’ve read any of his essays . So too was Carl Sagan -two of the writers I most admire for their sanity, clarity and character.

“The second point of significance is the recording angels remark that Heaven, not human beings decides who qualifies. I take that to mean that if I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think He would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God and whose deed is foul, foul, foul.

I would also want a God who would not allow a Hell. Infinite torture can only be a punishment for infinite evil, and I don’t believe that infinite evil can be said to exist even in the case of a Hitler. Besides if most human governments are civilised enough to try to eliminate torture and outlaw cruel and unusual punishments, can we expect anything less of an all-merciful God?

I feel that if there were an afterlife, punishment for evil would be reasonable and of a fixed term. And I feel that the longest and worst punishment would be reserved for those who slandered God by inventing Hell.

“The Earth should not be cut up into hundreds of different sections, each inhabited by a self-defined segment of humanity that considers its own welfare and its own “national security” to be paramount above all other considerations. There are no nations! There is only humanity. And if we don’t come to understand that right soon, there will be no nations, because there will be no humanity.”

… We forget the point of the parable is entirely vitiated by the common phrase “good” Samaritan for that has cast a false light on who the Samaritans were. . . To the Jews [of Jesus’ time – ed.] the Samaritans were not good. They were hated, despised, contemptible heretics with whom no good Jew would have anything to do. Again, the whole point is lost through non-translation.

…The Parable of the Good Samaritan clearly teaches that there is nothing parochial in the concept “neighbor,” that you cannot confine your decency to your own group and your own kind. All mankind, right down to those those you most despise are your neighbours.”

Personally, I consider these to be some of the sanest and truest words I’ve read & they were written by a Russian (& American) Jew.

PS. Yes I know Asimov isn’t a perfect hero , no hero is, and about his problematic, inappropriate behaviour to some of them over the years. It saddens me and I agree he was wrong in that one area and respect but is far from giving the whole picture of who he was and what he believed.

  • sugarfrosted

@18, you know. I was going to explain this away, but you have a point. I’ll just apologize for that.

(PS, I was going to try to explain it, then I caught myself typing an argument which was verbatim a thing that Savage used to say in my neocon days and realized how fuck headed that was. Russia is a place with absurd amounts of racism, but to lampoon all (relatively) recent Russian Jewish immigrants is wrong.)
