Savage: We Must Stop Obama ‘Before He Kills Us All’

Michael Savage seems to be sliding more and more off the deep end with each passing day. Now continually referring to President Obama as Satan, he told his listeners on Tuesday that Obama must be stopped “before he kills us all” — and if you disagree, you’re probably high on medical marijuana.

You have Satan in the White House,” Savage said, or, rather, shouted. “You have an absolute fork-tongued Satan every day in every way trying to bring the country to its knees, trying to turn black against white, white against black, Americans against the police, everyday Satan does it.”

Savage said that he is simply trying to save us all from death at Obama’s hands: “I see the country on fire. I see the man with the matches and the lighter fuel and I see him playing with the lighter fuel and the matches every day and I’m standing here like a fireman screaming, ‘Fire in the theater!’ Get the child out of the White House. He is going to set the nation on fire like he set the world on fire. Stop him before he kills all of us.”

“And if you think I’m paranoid then you’re really sick or you are stoned on medical marijuana and you don’t know what the hell you’re doing yourself,” he added for good measure.

This is the kind of rhetoric that pushes people to try to assassinate presidents. Savage doesn’t care, of course. I suspect he’d be just fine with that.

    Michael Savage states:

    And if you think I’m paranoid . . .

I think his behavior demonstrates he’s way worse than those who are paranoid.

  • caseloweraz

His mental state does seem to be approaching something that could require a psychiatrist’s care. I hope someone with authority to act is paying attention.

    Probably not.

Most of these are, “stable within their categories”. They never get much worse. They also never get much better.

Glenn Beck isn’t doing anything now that he wasn’t doing 25 years ago. He’s always been a babbling idiot. In fact, he may even be doing better. He’s admitted to smoking marijuana. IIRC, it was every day for 16 years. Along with cocaine and alcohol. These days he is off the drugs and on to…Mormonism.

I have never paid any attention to Michael Savage so don’t really have a baseline to compare his current gibberish with his past gibberish.

Most likely he is metaphorically shouting now. The right wing is full of glassy eyed crazies spouting nonsense.

It’s the crowded room syndrome. You have to scream to get anyone to pay attention to you. For Michael Savage, attention is his job, it’s just business and money.

Obama has been the most demonized president in history. He is a Marxist, Commie, Moslem, Terrorist, America hater. At various times he is Hitler, the Antichrist, Satan, and Vladimir Lenin. Really, they’ve run out of insults to scream at him.

    In Fundieland.

In realityland, he was elected President twice. And done a good job. The economy has been expanding for 7 years, stock markets and corporate profits are at record highs, oil prices are going down. Housing has recovered and unemployment is half what it was when Bush left office. He got the ACA passed.

He’s disengaged us mostly from Afghanistan and Iraq, one of which was a huge mistake of George Bush.

Comapre his track record with Bush/Cheney. They all but wrecked the USA with pointless wars and the Great Recession. Obama has spent most of his time fixing their Catastrophe with notable success.

He’s probably surrounded by yes-men who tell him that everybody loves it when he goes over the top like that. They don’t give a stuff whether it’s true or not; as long as they keep their job.

I suspect most Republicans do not go as far as Savage. But they go much too far:

” Fully 75% of Republicans want GOP leaders to challenge Obama more often; just 15% say they are handling relations with the president about right and 7% say GOP leaders should go along with Obama more often.”

This is, completely absurd. The GOP congresspeople have been challenging Obama far more than any previous president has ever been challenged, by anyone. Oh, except for that time the Confederacy started the civil war.

So . . . Obama is Satan. No, he’s a man with matches and lighter fluid. No, he’s a child in the White House. Which is it? Which one are we supposed to be skeered of? After all, the first one’s imaginary, the second one can do only limited damage, and the last one sounds pretty harmless overall. Incapable of setting the entire nation on fire, anyway.

I love how Savage, a Jew, proclaims himself spokesman for ‘the white man’ while he condemns Obama for being Nazi.

Michael Savage seems to be sliding more and more off the deep end

Savage was already so extraordinarily “out there” that it beggars the imagination to think he’s managed to find a way to go further into madness. But he has. If he’s not simply putting on an act to keep his devotees entertained and digging into their wallets for his books, then his dissociation from reality is complete.

If these raving wingnut info-tainers did manage to incite a presidential assassination, we should not expect any sort of mea culpa from the likes of Savage.

Predictably, they would wash their hands of it, blaming it on an isolated lunatic driven crazy by not enough Jesus in school. Or perhaps they would trot out another of their old tinfoil hat favorites: “It was a false flag operation! Teh gays did it because…reasons!”

  • narciblog

But Savage doesn’t think “WE must stop Obama.” Savage isn’t poor, he can afford a high powered rifle. Savage, like all right wing pundits, thinks someone *else* must save us, while he sits safe and sound recording his radio show.

  • sugarfrosted

Savage was always an open racist, thought as far as I know he never went into “Obama is trying to start race war” territory, but was still far more right wing than any of the non-“Christian Radio” radio hosts that I know of. He’s also one of the few in that category to have a travel ban in the UK.

Fuck me, Michael Savage apologises (kinda) for saying that fucking terrible swear word “hell” – twice!

Fuck, Savage, ‘hell’ (concept and word*) doesn’t bother me or most others especially you’re saying of it. Telling ridiculously OTT lies about Obama being “Satan” and basically inciting your listeners who hopefully are only as unhinged as you are and not worse to violence is a lot more worrrying.

Does this Klown really have an audience, that actually takes him seriously and accepts what he says? Given this sort of on air metaphorical fecal vomit that’s hard to believe – or at least it should be.

if you think I’m paranoid then you’re really sick or you are stoned on medical marijuana and you don’t know what the hell you’re doing yourself,” he added for good measure.

Wow! That medical MJ must be so good I don’t even remember smoking it man! But I don’t feel stoned even. Or, y’know, maybe there are other explanations..

    * Isaac Asimov summed it up best In My Humble Opinion Naturally :

“The second point of significance is the recording angels remark that Heaven, not human beings decides who qualifies. I take that to mean that if I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think He would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God and whose deed is foul, foul, foul.

I would also want a God who would not allow a Hell. Infinite torture can only be a punishment for infinite evil, and I don’t believe that infinite evil can be said to exist even in the case of a Hitler. Besides if most human governments are civilised enough to try to eliminate torture and outlaw cruel and unusual punishments, can we expect anything less of an all-merciful God?

I feel that if there were an afterlife, punishment for evil would be reasonable and of a fixed term. And I feel that the longest and worst punishment would be reserved for those who slandered God by inventing Hell.

    &

Once, when a religionist denounced me in unmeasured terms, I sent him a card saying, “I am sure you believe that I will go to hell when I die and that once there I will suffer all the pains and tortures the sadistic ingenuity of your deity can devise and that this torture will continue forever. Isn’t that enough for you? Do you have to call me bad names in addition?” I never received an answer, of course.”

& whilst watching the launch of Apollo 17 on a cruise liner :

And in all this, it was useless to try to speak, for there was nothing to say. The words and phrases had not been invented that would serve as an accompaniment to that magnificent leap to the Moon, and I did not try to invent any. Had I the time and the folly and had I not been utterly crushed under sights and sounds so much greater than anything I had ever experienced, I might have tried to apostrophise the world about me and say : Oh, wonder of wonders! Oh, soaring spirit of man that conquers space and reaches indomitably towards the stars …

But I couldn’t and didn’t, and it was some young man behind me who contributed the spoken accompaniment to the rise of the spaceship.

With all the magnificent resources of the English language at his command, he chose the phrase that perhaps most intimately expressed his inner workings.

“Oh, shit”, he said, as his head tilted slowly upward. And then, with his tenor voice rising over all the silent heads on board, he added, “Oh, shi-i-i-i-i-i-t!”

Well, to each his own. I said nothing.”

Lucky it was only “shit’ and not a few other alternative swears I guess ..

Savage: We Must Stop Obama ‘Before He Kills Us All’

    Translated:

Savage: “We must all kill Obama before he stops us”

People who say stuff like “Obama = satan” are trying to incite assassination attempts. If someone actually does take a shot, the mouthpiece can and will hide behind religion and free speech while divesting themselves of any responsibility for their words (see: Jared Loughner and Sarah Palin’s “don’t retreat, reload” statement).
