KKK Praises Roof, Starts Recruiting Drive

The White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan want you to know that they support what Dylann Roof did in murdering nine black people in Charleston. They also want you to know that he was just following the Bible. And they want you to join up with them for more of the same.

Days after the massacre at a black church in South Carolina, some Americans woke to a vile surprise: KKK fliers with candy on their lawns.

The propaganda—stuffed into plastic baggies with pieces of peppermint and Tootsie Rolls—included a phone number for the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Planted under the cover of darkness, the fliers were distributed in California, Kansas, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia…

A message on the hate-spewing hotline, based in North Carolina, salutes 21-year-old Dylann Roof, who was charged with murder for the killing nine people in Charleston. Roof penned a racist manifesto before the June 17 mass shooting and wanted to start a “race war.”

“We in the Loyal White Knights of the KKK would like to say hail victory to … Dylan S. Roof who decided to do what the Bible told him,” a man chirps in the recording. “An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. They [black people] have spilled our blood too long. It’s about time someone spilled theirs.”…

Robert Jones, of the Royal White Knights in North Carolina, told The Daily Beast that the Klan is undergoing a national recruitment drive that coincidentally started around the time of the South Carolina murders.

“We’re doing this from the East Coast to the West Coast, just to let people know the Klan’s in their community,” said Jones, the grand dragon of the hate group based in Pelham, N.C. “Especially with all the stuff that’s in the news—in South Carolina they’re wanting to take the confederate flag down.”

Jones told The Daily Beast that he supports Roof’s crime, but preferred that he “shot the correct people,” such as minority drug dealers rather than churchgoers.

“It’s a racial war against our people,” Jones said. “The more the media pushes multiculturalism down our throat, the more you’re going to see killings like this.”

I have nothing witty or pithy to say about this. I just find it horrifying that there are so many people who share such a view in this country.

And, they were quick to add, none of this has anything to do with race.

    Yes.

    And this century.

  • colnago80

I’m sure that Schmucknor will be along to claim that they are Democrats.

I remember the KKK’s last big push here in Connecticut in the ’80’s, that lovely time of Saint Ronnie, Willie Horton and ‘welfare queens’. A number of the most disagreeable, least educated persons I was working with joined and paraded their new membership cards, etc, apparently thinking they had just become the new elite, No one else was impressed and the newness wore off quickly though their attitudes never improved.

We just haven’t come all that far since.

Like deep-fried sticks of butter or lynching, they’re just celebrating Southern Culture.

  • StevoR

Southern culture – that’s Seminole, Apache, Cherokee etc.. cultures plus gumbo and the blues yeah?

Plus being about the only part of the US of A that can see Alpha Centauri?

Is this the same KKK that does not like being called a hate group?

  • wreck

    Vile scum-sucking vermin.

StevoR, actually it’s mostly ignorance coupled to nostalgia. Plus Skynyrd.*

    * Go Skynyrd! Woo!

Trying to lure people in with candy? Yeah, that doesn’t seem creepy at all. But I guess when you’re a degenerate, you stick with the strategies you know…

Hawaii is part of the South?

Candy? Are they recruiting 5-year old kids from a windowless van now?

  • dugglebogey

If they are saying Dylann Roof did the right thing, are they admitting that they are too cowardly to do it themselves?

  • Pierce R. Butler

I hope somebody gets that candy lab-tested.

… the Loyal White Knights of the KKK would like to say hail victory to … Dylan S. Roof …

An unusual turn of phrase, until you remember that “hail victory” in German comes out “Sieg Heil!”

  • colnago80

    Re Pierce Butler @ #14

Sounds much better in the original German.

Well geographically it kinda is! Also note the “about” there but yeah. I gather from southern Florida Alpha Cen is just visible if I’m remembering my Asimov book on it right. Hmm … wait a sec. :

Alpha Centauri is located in the southern part of the sky’s dome, and so is not visible beyond 29 degrees north from northern latitudes, including most of the USA. In America, the line of visibility runs close to Houston and Orlando, but even from as far south as the Florida Keys, Alpha Centauri only rises a few degrees above the horizon, which makes it difficult to observe in all but the darkest of skies.

    Source : http://www.astronomytrek.com/10-interesting-facts-about-alpha-centauri/

(Which has the colour of Alpha Cen B quite wrong in its graphic for its spectral class – seen various but Kaler says K1 – and comparison with the hotter A. Alpha Cen B should be a cooler stronger yellow or orange there. /pedant.)

  • StevoR

PS Also the last fact there is highly disputed -it seems the exoplanet around Alpha Cen B may not in fact exist – although I hope it does & is eventually confirmed.

Who the hell would mix peppermint with tootsie rolls? Part of me thinks it’s a critique about race-mixing and how it just doesn’t work. Part of me thinks that, nah, they’re just idiots with no taste. I think there’s more evidence for the latter.

  • Georgia Sam

Yeah, I guess I must have missed Sunday school the day they taught that part of the bible.

Jones told The Daily Beast that he supports Roof’s crime, but preferred that he “shot the correct people,” such as minority drug dealers rather than churchgoers.

Roof is not the first ignorant cracker to make this mistake. White racists have been blowing up black churches for a long time, and it’s very easy to see why: black people who dress properly and go peacefully to a Christian church (and, most alarmingly, worship the same God the racists use to justify their hatred) are a far greater threat to their brittle worldview than black people who get drunk and smoke crack. The latter reinforce their image of black people and serve to excuse their hatred; while the former debunk it completely. So even though the drunk crackhead black thugs may kill more people in the real world, it’s the peaceful churchgoing blacks in their Sunday best who make the racists feel most threatened.

  • caseloweraz

Yes, the KKK recruiting drive is vile. But guess what — it’s going to backfire. It’s going to blow up in their faces, just as Dylann Storm Roof’s murderous rampage did.

I have, by the way, been wondering about that middle name “Storm.” Could it be tied somehow to “Stormfront”? We may never know, but it seems to me possible. That may be why the KKK spokesturd chose to use Roof’s middle initial but avoided the whole middle name. Of course this is sheer speculation on my part.
