Arpaio’s Birther Investigation’s Bombshell Still Not Dropping

You may remember that back in 2013, the lead investigator for Joe Arpaio’s still-ongoing birther “cold case posse” promised that they were soon going to release some “universe-shattering” information that would, of course, prove to the world that President Obama really is a Kenyan-born Muslim Marxist antichrist car salesman, or something. Almost two years later, still no bombshell. The Worldnetdaily asks why:

Reached by telephone, Zullo told WND in an interview his Cold Case Posse team commissioned by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office must resolve three legal issues before the new evidence can be revealed regarding the validity of the document posted online by the White House in 2011 as Obama’s birth certificate and a subsequent investigation of its origin.

“We’ve cleared two, and the last one is problematic,” Zullo said of the legal hurdles.

“If we can’t clear it, it may preclude this information from ever reaching the light of day. It may prevent me from ever disclosing what this is. But it does not mean we are not cultivating new evidence.”

Zullo explained that when he said in 2013 he was preparing to release the information, he anticipated “we were going to have these answers within weeks.”

“As this was progressing, the legal issues started coming up, and it’s just put everything on hold,” he said.

WND, of course, accepts that vague answer completely. It all reminds me of Glenn Beck’s M.O. of repeatedly promising some huge revelation that is going to shake the world to the core. Then nothing happens and it all disappears down the memory hole. But the announcement of the impending revelation is all that is really needed. The denizens of the right wing fever swamps will take it as gospel truth even if they don’t know what it is and blame the alleged suppression of the non-existent evidence on dark forces and conspiracies.

If we can’t clear it, it may preclude this information from ever reaching the light of day.

Probably George Soros’ sealed testimony in a 1953 case that his time machine worked and he went forward in time to kidnap a Kenyan child and return him to Hawaii in 1961 to groom him to be President of the US or at least the Commissioner of baseball.

Just one more legal hurdle, but they can’t even hint at what that hurdle might be. Is it the fear of a defamation suit? Don’t worry boys, presidents don’t sue for defamation. Just come out with the big revelation. Your adoring public is waiting..

    @John Peiret,

Oh wow. I didn’t even think of that, and it’s so obvious.

Remember the “whitey” video? Also, Donald Trump’s investigators were about to release their proof that Obama was born in Kenya a couple of years ago. Apparently they ran into the same legal obstacle.

  • cswella

So what would even happen if it came out that Obama wasn’t born in the US, at this point? Would all of his policies be dropped? Or would he just be impeached, a process that I assume would take until after he would have been done being president anyway.

Do they think they can just rewind the last 8 years and throw in McCain/Palin?

  • raven

So what would even happen if it came out that Obama wasn’t born in the US, at this point?

    Nothing.

Obama’s mother was an American Citizen.

Ted Cruz was born in Alberta, Canada. McCain was born in Panama.

cervantes @ # 5: … Trump’s investigators were about to release their proof that Obama was born in Kenya a couple of years ago.

Well, that would certainly invalidate his entire presidency: the Constitution clearly states that the Chief Executive must be at least 35 years old.

  • cswella

    @raven:

I know that. What I’m asking is what WOULD happen IF he wasn’t. What do these birthers expect to happen IF they do happen to have all the evidence they claim?

  • raven

must resolve three legal issues before the new evidence can be revealed regarding the validity of the

He is lying here and he knows it.

It’s completely legal to lie about Obama, insult him, and slander and libel him. It’s done every day. If Fox NoNews didn’t do it, they wouldn’t have any programming.

“I have a list of 500 communists in the State Department.”

“I have a list of 50 million Moslem terrorists hidden in Yosemite and Yellowstone parks.”

“I have a list of Space Reptile controlled companies.”

“I have a list of demon infested GOPers.” (It is the membership list for the GOP!!!)

PS I have huge amounts of information that Joe Arpaio is actually a Moslem illegal immigrant born in Mexico. The name alone says it all. Arpaio is a common name in Spanish speaking countries!!!

Real Americans simply don’t have names like Arpaio.

I secretly suspect that the third “problematic” legal issue here is that their mothers won’t let them cross the street.

  • ‘smee

I suspect the third “problematic” legal issue is that all their evidence is a complete fabrication and would not withstand cross examination in a court of law. Hell, it probably wouldn’t be able to withstand the cross examination in a barber shop.

  • erichoug

I liken this to BS artists that I come into contact with at my work. I work in a Manufacturing plant in Houston making industrial products. Every now and then somebody calls me and says something along the line of “If you could do X, then I’ll buy 10,000 units a month, every month for the next million years.” I have seen one or two that are serious about it but most are just full of shit and, for one reason or another enjoy wasting my time.

The way to tell, is when you actually do X, the real ones start shoveling money at you and calling you every day to expedite delivery. The BS artists keep talking “Oh, now I need it to do X and Y”, “We need to review/do more testing/compare it to existing” and you never see dollar 1.

    Sound familiar? “

  • Trebuchet

    @7, Raven.

Obama’s mother was an American Citizen.

Ted Cruz was born in Alberta, Canada. McCain was born in Panama.

And both are legally qualified to be President. As is Mitt Romney, whose father was born in Mexico. But of course, they aren’t black.

  • caseloweraz

Sastra: I secretly suspect that the third “problematic” legal issue here is that their mothers won’t let them cross the street.

I tend to agree. It’s probably a corollary of the Crosspatch Decision.

It would be nice if the birthers could provide some credible evidence that Ann Dunham was ever in Kenya. AFAIK, there is not a shred of evidence that she was ever there.

  • Jared James

@16 …or, for that matter, it would make a gnat hair’s worth of difference if she had spent her entire life in Kenya, having been born an American citizen.

  • busterggi

Three legal issues? G’wan, conservatives can’t count that high.

  • http://www.pandasthumb.org Area Man

People who actually have earth-shaking revelations do not waste time yammering about their impending earth-shaking revelations. They simply reveal them. If the so-called “whitey tape” ever existed, for example, it would have been on YouTube in a matter of minutes and would have spoken for itself; the Obamas would have been powerless to undo the damage. You might withhold evidence in order to blackmail someone or protect it from being destroyed or stolen, but in that case talking about it publicly defeats the whole purpose. The only reason to talk about evidence you can’t yet reveal is that it doesn’t exist.

  • sigurd jorsalfar

I suspect that the third legal hurdle is the rules of evidence. They just can’t find a way around the rule that says “shit you just made up isn’t evidence — it isn’t even hearsay”.

  • thebookofdave

No sense jumping to conclusions, folks. There may be a perfectly reasonable explanation for not their hesitation to tell us the nature of those three legal issues. For example: Zullo may be counting on Rick Perry to break the news.

  • had3

What the hell are the first two? If they’ve been resolved they can share those with us. I’d love to know what predicate issues existed that demanded review by counsel: can we make shit up about the prez? (Yes). Can we print it? (Yes). Now we need a third one…
