Trump Disbands CEO Councils Right After They Quit

At the beginning of his term, Trump created two groups, the Strategic and Policy Forum and the CEO Manufacturing Council. After those groups decided to disband, Trump decided to take his ball and go home and do away with them. But here he was after the first couple CEOs quit:

And then more of them decided to leave and they voted to just disband the whole thing:

President Trump’s main council of top corporate leaders disbanded on Wednesday after the president’s controversial remarks in which he equated white nationalist hate groups with the protesters opposing them.

Soon after, the president announced on Twitter that he would end his executive councils, rather than put “pressure” on executives…

After a discussion among a dozen prominent C.E.O.s, the decision was made to abandon the group altogether, said people with knowledge of details of the call.

So Trump decided to take credit for it:

But you had many to take their place! They were clamoring to get on your councils! “You can’t quit, you’re fired!” Of course, those councils didn’t actually do anything anyway. They’d done absolutely nothing in the last 8 months. My only surprise is that Trump didn’t claim that they were disbanding because those CEOs are too busy creating jobs because he has supercharged the economy (also by doing nothing, incidentally). When you’re so toxic that even corporate CEOs want nothing to do with you…
