Detailed Historical Context to India-Pakistan Kashmir Issue, Recent NSA Talks and the Way Ahead

The recent NSA talks have - as the author had predicted - been called off by Pakistan.  Numerous analysts and commentators in India and the its opposition parties - including the various intriguing folks in Pakistan - have been coming up with their own versions of the situation. The author finds discussion of central and most critical facts completely missing in the larger discourse.  It is time we look into them.1.  Accession of Kashmir to India was Final: The Cabinet Mission memorandum, … [Read more...]

Netanyahu’s Horrible Mistake on Iran and History of Proliferation via China and Pakistan

In mid-1980s, Abdul Qadeer (AQ) Khan - Pakistan's infamous Nuclear scientist - provided the design for the P-1 (P stands for Pak) nuclear plant to Iran.  A plant that contained 5,832 P1 centrifuges in 38 individual cascades, four sets of cascades would be producing enriched uranium in stages up to weapon-grade.  Iran called these IR-1.  The plant was built in Iran with parts smuggled through the networks.   For example, in 2002, B.S.A. Love Jihad in India and Europe – Its Historical and Empirical context and Denial by vested Interests

In the recent months, Yogi Adityanath has become the target of many in India, who value political correctness over facts.  With his no more than less than half a dozen speeches, he has ruffled the feathers of Indian Secularism so badly that the media - without Dispassionately and independently weighting his assertions - is keen to pronounce him a devil.  In fact the rhetoric of Indian media is so sharp that it almost seems that one cannot even present a view or opinion contrary to the prevalent o … [Read more...]

Pakistan Govt paid $1.8 mn to journalists from Secret Government Fund

As much as the Pakistani journalists keep asserting their freedom, and keep accusing Indian Journalists of toeing the Indian Government line, the truth was that Pakistan media people would stand right alongside whatever lie or latest "controversy theory" that the Government would dish out.  So there was always a sneaking suspicion that there was a collusion between the Government and Journalists.  Now, due to a case in the Supreme Court by two journalists, Government has had to lay bare the s … [Read more...]
