Joe Kernen mimicking the Indian Accent

Recently - on Sept 20th - Reserve Bank of India (India's Central Bank) raised the interest rates to combat rampant inflation in India.  That came up during the discussion on Currencies on CNBC's Squawk Box.  Co-hosts Joe Kernen, Becky Quick, and Andrew Ross Sorkin started discussing, where Becky even said she had some Rupees in her purse from her last visit to India.  And, then Joe Kernen gets on with his mimicry act on Indians and jokes about the 7 Eleven's.Becky does try to shut his racial … [Read more...]

What is Rashtra Dharma or Duty to Nation: Chanakya-speak

What is Rashtra Dharma (or Duty to your Nation)?  Is it sucking up to the dynasties?  Or is it Unity, integrity, security and prosperity of your mother-land?Chanakya deals with these questions very effectively in this one interaction.  Whatever he says is still relevant... just replace Nand-vansh with Gandhi dynasty.  Same thing.  And honestly, this is the issue I have with Dr. Manmohan Singh.  Nothing has put him down in my eyes more than how he has collaborated with the plunderers and loote … [Read more...]

Wikileaks and the Shocking Picture of Corruption and Betrayal by Congress and the Gandhi Family!

This past week has been a treasure trove of Wikileaks information for Indian politics.  And interestingly, it leaves the "First Family" of Indian politics - the Gandhis - in a dump.  Wheeling-dealing Rajiv Gandhi, Authoritarian Sanjay Gandhi, a corrupt household, and unpredictable Indira Gandhi.  The Congress in general has come out to be a cesspool of betrayal and corruption.First, Rajiv Gandhi was said to be the middleman for the Saab-Scandia deal as early as the 1970s (Rajiv Gandhi played a … [Read more...]

Rahul Gandhi, Can your family stop Sacrificing for India please? Really!

Gandhi and his call for Firearms to be given to India’s Citizens: Was he really a Pacifist?

A quote from Gandhi has gained prominence in recent months, specially in the US because of the Guns possession debate. "Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest." Some say it wasn't Gandhi, some say it has been misquoted.  Those who say Gandhi said this - say it is on Page 446 of his Autobiography.  The context seems to have been explained thus: "I used to issue leaflets asking people to enlist as r … [Read more...]

Gandhi ALSO blamed Women for getting Raped; Do Misogyny and Obsession with Sexual Purity go Hand-in-Hand?

Mahatama Gandhi was, after all, the "Father of the Nation". What's wrong if the sons take after their father?A lot has been said about Rape and the Indian culture.  Even Hinduism has been invoked to show linkages to the rape epidemic currently in place in India.  But are we victims of the prejudices of moralistic politicians who neither knew Hinduism nor were straight with the people?  Gandhi - the Father of the Nation - is one such person whom we shall look at today.Gandhi once said of a Ra … [Read more...]

Finally, a Guinness Record for Mahatama Gandhi!

We have all sorts of ways to get to the Guinness Book somehow.  At least this kids got to display their love for non-violence and peace.
