Was the Hindu Golden Age to start After Mayan’s end of world?

A lot has been said about the world ending on December 21, 2012.  Well, since I am writing this on Dec 23, - almost 24th - the world has obviously not ended.  But I came  across this piece which sounds intriguing and interesting.  I haven't read this scripture - although it is one that my Mother would read very often - so cannot say about the veracity of the claim here.  But I wouldn't be surprised.
