Intended for More than Relief

Monty Python's Life of Brian

What if the reasons we go to church actually perpetuates problems and doesn’t really help us get better?Studies have found most people go to church for a couple of reasons: they always have and it’s a habit based on an obligatory belief that somehow going to church is the right thing to do and somehow pleases God, others go because they are facing problems and are told that God will help them. I’m sure there are a myriad of other reasons - some noble, some less – as to why people go to church … [Read more...]

When You Know Better, You Do Better?

There is no question that ignorance can harm us; but I’m not sure knowing better is necessarily equated to doing better. God is active in every story, and as such, He is often the invisible Character. Part of being a follower of Christ is becoming more and more acutely aware that God is a part of every aspect of our lives. That God is moving, crafting us, showing us grace and mercy; that God is with us in joy and sorrows, in victories and defeats.  People may doubt the claims of the Gospel, but the one thing they can’t doubt and can’t deny is its affects on your life. That’s why your story is so important. Your st … [Read more...]
