The Bird Sayings Tradition in T-Shirt Form

The students at Crossway College provided me with a wonderful farewell gift. It is a t-shirt inscribed with various sayings attributed to me. Now, just like the Jesus tradition, some of the sayings are authentic, some capture the gist of what I said, and others are just flat out apocryphal.

    Hi, Mike.

I see you’ve ‘updated’ (read, ‘sanitised’) the 7 P’s of Australian Army lore. Other potentially useful quips might include: ‘pain is simply weakness leaving the body’ (I’m sure there’s an apt ecclesiological jibe hiding in there, somewhere), and ‘that which does not kill us makes us stronger’ (with visions of a robust spirituality springing to mind).

Finally, ‘sound off for equipment check’ would probably fit Ephesians 6:13ff with a little tweaking 😉

    Blessings,

    Ian
