What Makes For An Influential Blog?

Apparently, it is all in the links. A new study has attempted to rank blogs in these terms. Since we can only read so many blogs, the question was which 100 would you pick that would give you an overall impression of what’s going on in the blogosphere generally.

That’s why, rather than write something myself, I’m sharing this link. And this one from a science blogger who is persuaded it is bad math, since it lists his old (now defunct) blog rather than his new one.

That’s also why you will want to post a link to my post about this on your own blog, and post a mention of your post linking to my post in the comments section here.

Wow, who knew that making one’s blog influential involved so much running in circles?

Well, that’s the whole premise of Technorati’s ranking: you achieve “authority” ranking based on the number of people who link to you. Which would be why I’m so thankful that you link to me from your blog! ;-)Esteban

Ok, done :)Not that your infinite loop idea will actually work, since I’m sure comments come with “nofollow” tags by default.
