Evangelicals and Evolution

At BioLogos, Evangelical biologist Dennis Vennema continues to present evidence for common ancestry.

At Jesus Creed, the series on the implications of modern science (including but not limited to evolution) for Christian theology continues.

At Religion Dispatches, Lauri Lebo reports on the attack on science textbooks in Louisiana.

I visited a Homeschooling curriculum store this week and I was flabbergasted at what a subculture Christians have done to homeschooling. I couldn't find any science texts that discussed evolution but many that refuted evolution. I was also verbally questioned how one could believe in evolution and Jesus (and I felt like saying – I have no idea either, but if they contradict, I'll side with evolution). Biologos and Jesus Creed have quite the battle ahead of them.

Like a Child, are you really aware of what is going on the the public schools in the big cities? It isn't all education. Violence, intimidation, and drugs are foisted on children who have no idea how to deal with it.And the education is not top nothch either. Science? Heck, close to a third of big city High School students don't even graduate. And a third of those who do can not even read and do math at a High School level. Our family and friends are no longer sacrificing our children to the state sponsored schools until they are prepared to defend themselves. And that mean intellectually AND Phycially.Of course the atheists don't like that…but that is just an added bonus.
