Hello,I have a question about one of your blog posts “Abraham without a bible.”
I forwarded this to a “religious” friend of mine, and he asked “why didn’t Mr Mcgrath mention anything about Abraham’s son being a gift in old age? Wouldn’t that make you a little more likely to believe the “voice in your head”?
You should have mentioned that for people like me that are not very versed. It does make a difference.

@Unsecure, I wrote that post presupposing that those reading it would be familiar with the story I was talking about in the Bible.

Did your friend explain how Isaac being born in Abraham’s old age makes it seem more appropriate for Abraham to listen to a voice saying to kill him?

In the future, please leave comments on the relevant post. Thank you.
