Proverb 2:3-4

Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding.  Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.

Parable of the Hidden Treasure

Matthew 13:44

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.

In Perspective

Wisdom is a gift that God promises to give us when we ask earnestly. As you seek God in devotion each day, continuously pray for wisdom and guidance because God promises to answer those who seek Him. In the same way, our main focus should be on seeking Godʼs Kingdom. Everything else is secondary when compared to the riches we have in Him. Challenge – seek wisdom through the scriptures and meditate on His Word throughout your day.

  • Great reminder here TIm. So appropriate for Solomon to advise us to ask for understanding as he did just that in asking God for wisdom. Sometimes I get so caught up in trying to solve my own problems that I forget to ask God and wait for an answer!

  • This is an excellent reminder. I love how it says to seek understanding with the fervor you would for silver. It demonstrates how much emphasis should be placed on understanding. We are always so ready to grab for money, but how often we forget to grab for true knowledge and understanding. An awesome Word. Thanks Tim!
