The good Samaritan did what he did because there was no ambulance to call and no hospital to which an ambulance could deliver him, anyway. Are you against ambulances? Against hospitals? If you pay taxes that fund the military, sewers, roads, schools, etc, etc, are you a victim of theft? Or is it only theft if the government does things like take care of people’s emergency needs – needs that no individual Samaritan, or church of Samaritans, can ever meet on their own? Taxes are OUR money. We live in a democracy. (Jesus and the good Samaritan didn’t.) We decide together how to spend OUR money to benefit everybody. There is nothing un-Christian about that arrangement.

Until we agree, embrace and experience its power, there is little hope. The PCUSA seems fundamentally lost. We promote embracing philosophies that deviate from the truth of Christ. But continue lost.
