The State of the Union address is a function required of the President by the Constitution.. Last year, I watched the SOTU with my Tuesday night class. No night class this term. I hope you will join me.
I love the applause! Of course, I like it better when the President is a Dem.
No Alito. No Scalia. No Thomas. Oh, well.
A little teary at the embrace and kiss between Pres. Obama and Rep. Giffords.
Ending the war in Iraq is pretty awesome, no? Who would have thought that Foreign Policy would be the strong issue for the Dems in 2012.
My 9 year old asked: “I wonder who will be giving this speech next year?”
The next year will be a fun one…for me at least.
Hammering egalitarian approach to economy and policy.
I think the Republicans are going to be sitting a lot.

Taxes…here it comes.
1. No tax deduction for outsourcing jobs.
2. No American Company should be allowed to avoid taxes by going overseas. Instead lower taxes on companies that keep jobs here.
3. Asssiting with financing for business that re-build abandoned communites.
Eric Cantor looks cranky. Does he only like tax cuts proposed by the GOP?
I like what he is proposing. We really need to curb China’s glut of garbage.

I think that is particularly the case if we are trying to maintain and grew jobs!
More funding for community colleges! Woot!
Raising the drop out age to 18 is a great idea. I also think that we should enhance serious vocation education at the high school level.

Oil is not enough…as long as we keep buying it from Wyoming…just saying.

I fear that Washington is broken. Although you may be right about the sluggish thing. Obama sounded very hopeful.
I am usually optimistic about the possibilities of politics. I may address this more in the future.
