    I agree with you on The Invasion, of course. Something specific hit me when I was thinking about the lack of jeopardy in this new film. In the original, even with the somewhat more hopefull ending commissioned by the studio, there is a sense that anyone who becomes a pod person is gone and can never return. In this new film there doesn’t seem to be any consequences other than a as return to normality.
