The fourth episode of Beyond A.D is here. Host Jason Kennedy is joined this week by John Gray, a pastor at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Texas, and comedian Ron G, plus there is a musical performance by The City Harmonic and a not-quite-new clip from tonight’s episode of A.D. The Bible Continues. Check it out below the jump.

Here is the episode itself (though it might be accessible to U.S. viewers only):

A few highlights:

  • Gray discusses the “social services” aspect of the early church and says modern social service programs wouldn’t be needed “if the Church would be the true hands and feet of Jesus” (c. the 8-minute mark).
  • Gray says God may have struck down Ananias and Sapphira because a standard had been set and their violation of that standard, at such an early point in church history, could have “transformed” the Church (c. the 12-minute mark).
  • Kennedy says the “ashes” that Pilate force-feeds to Caiaphas were a mix of corn flour and icing sugar (c. the 17-minute mark).
  • A viewer complains that A.D. is too violent (c. the 24-minute mark).
  • A viewer says Peter is “hot” (c. the 30-minute mark).
  • The “angelic jailbreak” clip from tonight’s episode (c. the 35-minute mark).

The City Harmonic’s musical performance has also been posted as a standalone clip:

You can also watch a bonus clip with Ron G’s personal testimony:

Check out earlier trailers and other videos here (though be warned: it appears that the network has taken some of the trailers and clips offline already):
