Now that Easter has come and gone, it’s time to look ahead to Christmas.

This week, Sony Pictures Animation released the first official images of Joseph, Mary, and a few of the main animal characters from their upcoming movie The Star.

Here are Joseph (voiced by Zachary Levi) and Mary (Gina Rodriguez):

And here are Bo the donkey (Steven Yeun), Ruth the sheep (Aidy Bryant) and Dave the dove (Keegan-Michael Key):

The plot synopsis remains the same as it was a few months ago:

A small but brave donkey named Bo yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day he finds the courage to break free and finally goes on the adventure of his dreams. On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, a lovable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become accidental heroes in the greatest story ever told – the first Christmas.

The studio also announced that Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond, Moms’ Night Out) has joined the cast as the voice of Edith the cow.

Finally, Gina Rodriguez spoke to People en Español about playing the Virgin Mary.

Now we just await the first trailer. The Star, which opens November 10, is one of three major animated movies slated for the winter holiday season, and we’ve already seen teasers for Pixar’s Coco (November 22) and Fox’s Ferdinand (December 15) — so presumably we should be seeing a teaser for The Star soon, too.
