Three quick items about TV shows with a religious hook that are now in development.
Easter is coming up this weekend, but the biggest “faith-based” movie at the box office isn’t one of the two Bible movies out there — instead, it’s Miracles from Heaven, which tells the story of a girl who was healed of a rare digestive disorder. The studio has released some new videos to promote the film as it enters its second week.
Most of my energy over the last few weeks has gone towards writing about various Bible-themed productions — Risen, The Young Messiah, Of Kings and Prophets, Ben-Hur, even the upcoming The Passion Live — but I figured I’d take a moment to say a few words about Miracles from Heaven, which opened on Wednesday.

Of the making of “faith-based” films, there is no end. While this blog’s primary focus right now is the Bible-themed productions premiering this week, another, more contemporary film — Miracles from Heaven — opens next week Wednesday, and the studio has released a few more videos to drum up interest in their movie.
