Advent in Malawi

We were in Malawi. It was a warm day in June when we arrived in Fombe village in the Shire river valley. Though this was a river valley there was no running waters or tributaries in this village.We approached a home where a mother of four was busy preparing her family’s daily meal. She cooked over a large open air fire just to the right of her home. The Overlooked Children of Africa- Climate Disruption Tour Day 2

Today we spent a full day visiting Fombe village in the Chickhwawa district. We met with many of the families (all farmers) and learned a lot about how they are trying to adapt to the changing and uncertain rainfall. We heard story after story of farmers telling us that before the rains used to come in October now they come in December.
