In Love & Salt: A Spiritual Friendship Shared in Letters, Amy Andrews and Jessica Mesman Griffith share private letters that they wrote to one another over a period of years.

This is a unique and creative book. Private letters made public!
Amy and Jessica met in a creative writing class in graduate school. After bonding one night and talking about their struggles about faith in God, they started a long-distance relationship via private letters.
Those letters became a memoir revealing deeply personal and profound accounts of conversion, motherhood, and crushing tragedy. The letters reveal a growing friendship and a developing faith.
I found this book engaging. The prose is raw and intimate, sometimes poetic even. While this isn’t a book only for Catholics, Catholic readers will especially enjoy it as one of the writers is Catholic.
