Obsession & God Acting in Judgment

Obsession & God Acting in Judgment November 9, 2019

If God has anointed you with a significant ministry, at some point in your life, you will have someone who is obsessed with destroying your life and your work.

The testimony of church history witnesses to this.

Some in the religious establishment were consumed with killing Jesus, and they eventually did.

Paul of Tarsus had some who were so obsessed with him that they took a vow to fast food until he was dead.

The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. Acts 23:12, NIV

Paul also had an obsessed ex-Pharisee who followed him where ever he went. The man’s goal in life was to defame Paul and undermine his work. (Paul referred to this man as his thorn in the flesh.)

Such obsession is usually fueled by jealousy, and it is satanic in origin. Natural explanations fall short. It’s supernatural.

Often, the person who embraces this satanic obsession to destroy God’s servants ends up falling under God’s judgement – in this life.

In 2010, a man became obsessed with one of my co-authors. In 2014, that man unexpectedly died.

There are other stories I can tell just like this one.

Point 1: To target one of God’s anointed servants is to play with fire – a fire not human.

Point 2: If God has anointed you for a significant ministry that touches His Eternal Purpose, you will come across some who are obsessed with you and your work.

But woe unto them if you they don’t stop and repent.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

Isaiah 54:17, NKJV
