New Yorkers can be fined $250 K for using wrong pronouns for transgenders January 2, 2016

Bill de Blasio, the raging liberal mayor of New York City, is at it again — but this time his new legislation regarding transgender citizens infringes on constitutional rights and is flat out ridiculous.

The Red State provides insight into the absurdity:

For starters, there is mere silliness:

The guidelines said dress codes requiring men to wear ties or women to wear skirts are discriminatory.

Then it starts to get more serious:

Failing to provide employee health benefits for gender-affirming care or failing to accommodate people undergoing gender transition, such as medical appointments, could violate the law as well, they said.

And finally, it gets to the absurd:

“…landlords, employers and businesses they could be running afoul of the law by purposely calling a transgender woman “him” or “Mr.” when she prefers a female title and pronoun, or by barring her from using a women’s restroom.”

The penalty comes at a steep price:

“Today’s guidance makes it abundantly clear what the city considers to be discrimination,” which can lead to fines of up to $250,000, Carmelyn P. Malalis, commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, said in a statement.

Um… Will this example of legislation eventually reach every possibly offensive comment? Will our children for example, have to learn gender neutral pronouns or face punishment? One of my favorite quotes of  last year came from UNCW professor, Mike Adams, during the introductory lecture of his criminology course :

You have no right to be unoffended. You have a right to be offended with regularity. It is the price you pay for living in a free society.

Exactly.
