Another comment contains a link to the National Parks Traveler's blog on which he writes what his research on this revealed (simply not the truth.) I did about six seconds of googling and found this site: <a href="http://www.cr.nps.gov/worldheritage/grcan.htm" rel="nofollow"> wherein the National Park Service explains in the first paragraph how old the canyon is thought to be. As to the book, yes it appears to be on the shelf, but not as science. It's there with the rest of the religious nonsense, including the Native American superstitions. Maybe we should all take a breath. We must be careful not to succomb to the same hysteria and silly "belief" activity as the god people. The story you mentioned earlier didn't say anything about park officials not being allowed to tell the geological age of the Canyon. Or have there been more recent developments?
