I know that this is an old thread…
but, I hope that someone can help me figure out who this atheist comedian is that I saw years ago at the Lake Hypatia 4th of July Freethought Celebration.

I have no idea of this guy’s name-I tried to get a copy of it back then from the guy who brought it, anyway, what I can remember about the guy is that he and his sister were raised by a single mother and a lot of his humor revolved around that life circumstance. I seem vaguely to remember that he recounted a tale about his mother bringing home a priest or minister as a romantic interest and how he reacted to it.

I know it’s just a shot in the dark and that isn’t much to go on but any help would be appreciated…the guy was really funny.

There’s a Billy Connolly clip that I can’t find anywhere (apart from on a DVD in my living room) about a rabid priest who visited his school.

Anyone who can hear Billy saying “AND YOUS’LL BURN IN THE FIRES OF HEEEELLLLLLLL!!!!” has seen it.

David Cross was featured in the first iteration of atheist comics. Does making fun of religion make someone an atheist though? Granted, when you don’t believe in the rituals of a religion, and you see odd rituals pointed out, it’s hilarious, but someone can criticize Christianity, or any religion, and still be a member of another faith, or still have a faith in a god.

David Cross belongs on this list. He has some great bits on religion. Here's a link to one that I found on You Tube but I'm sure there are plenty more. Also, I would argue against including Dane Cook. I've heard him do routines against atheism, which came off as pro-catholic.

Eddie Izzard is a legend (and not just ‘cos he’s English like me!). If you can get a copy of Glorious, it’s basically a walk through the entire Bible. The man’s a genius.
