Atheist Podcasts

Right now, I download the following atheistically-themed podcasts:

Are there other similar podcasts I’m missing out on?

  • Aj

The Infidel Guy Show, The Debate Hour and Faith and Freethought, three podcasts, one feed.

I listen to Point of Inquiry and Skepticality too, the other podcasts I listen to are Science Friday, New Scientist, Radio Lab (WNYC science), net@nite (tech), Diggnation (news/tech), and Democracy Now (news/political).

This is one of my favorites. :)

  • Stephen

The Atheist Community of Austin does some really nice ones

  • Serrac

Another recommendation for the Skeptics Guide- they aren’t strictly atheistic but it is a very good skeptical and scientific podcast. It has the fringe benefit of being absolutely hilarious.

    You might also like Apologia.

  • Carrie

    What about Hellbound Alleee?

    I listen to Skeptic’s Guide, Non-Prophets, & the Atheist Experience….they’re all good :)

I also enjoy “Dogma Free America.” It’s unique because it has news of dogma from all around the world (ex: people not wanting fake snow on mountaintops because they worship the mountain or people being killed b/c they are accused of witchcraft) followed by an interview.

Its host is cheesy, but I still enjoy his wit at times.

And someone already mentioned this, but the Infidel Guy’s podcast is great b/c it’s three podcasts rolled into one feed and they discuss all sorts of topics. You can also call in and ask questions on Thurs and Fridays when they’re live. Right now I’m listening to an older podcast where the Buddhist concept of no-self is discussed.

Just plug these names into some podcast searches.

The Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe

    Atheist Experience

Atheist Viewpoint (strictly an ipod video cast, dispenses .mp4 files, though you can still watch them on your ‘puter if you have Quicktime)

Non Prophets Airs every other saturday afternoon at 3pm EST w/ a lie IRC chatroom, which means this saturday. See you there?

    Hellbound Aileee

Rational Response Squad — pay to download

    Infidel Guy / Debate Hour

Other casts before Infidel Guy shut down the feed included the Biblical Errancy Show, and “Coffee, Gnosis and Cigarettes” at freethoughtmedia.com

By the way, thanks for the link to the Minnesota Atheists podcasts, I didn’t have that one.

I listened to a few episodes of The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, and it’s pretty cool. I went straight for the James Randi episode.

  • Ralph

My favorite is LogicallyCritical. The show covers a wide range of topics on the podcast but the atheistic shows are the best. Great use of soundbites also. I highly recommend it.

Ah, Dogma Free America and Logically critical, I should’ve remembered those.

    There’s also Skeptoid.

Freedom From Religion Foundation has a podcast.

    Equal Time For FreeThought

Another cast I like is the RUSirius show.

And last but not least, there are plenty of videos, mp3′s, links and feeds at this archive of skeptical media from Massimo Pigliucci, Steven Pinker, James Randi (he has a radio show too), Phil Plait (the Bad Astronomer), Michael Shermer, and Richard Dawkins. And Daniel Dennet.

    - SETI: Science and Skepticism – Are We Alone?

Dr. Seth Shostak is the host – excellent show on skepticism & science. He works for SETI – but is (rightly) skeptical about UFOs and alien visitors and such. Some shows on religious skepticism.

  • Ken Kressin

Reasonable Doubts podcasts are getting excellent.
