Come See Me at the University of Illinois Next Week!

On Saturday, October 13th, I’ll be speaking at the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign about the eBay auction, my book, and atheism in general.

Bonus points (and a Friendly Atheist wristband) to anyone who asks, “You’re cute… can I have your phone number?” during the Q&A.

The event is sponsored by the Atheists, Agnostics, & Freethinkers group on campus and will take place in 151 Loomis Lab at 7:00 p.m.

You can RSVP and find out more info by going to the event’s Facebook page!

Hope to see you there.

Awww, I’m disapponted. If one of the boys asks for your phone number, it’s perfectly reasonable for you to say “Thanks, but no thanks.” No need to make it seem like you’re ooked by it.

Hmm… didn’t mean to phrase it that way. But I’ll remove the line to clear up any ambiguity.

Hah, I proctored an exam in that room just a couple weeks ago. I’ll be there, the bus system willing.

    Hey, that’s my school too!

Question – Would you recommend bringing a bringing a Christian (wife) along to hear your talk? Or is this going to be more of an “atheists only” kind of event. I’m very interested in going as I have been a regular reader of your blog for a couple of months, but it would be much easier to go if my wife wanted to come too. It might take some “negotiating” to come by myself.

A Christian is *welcome* to come to the event. It’s not a religion-bashing sort of thing. Other Christians have heard me speak and have been unscarred by it, I promise :) They liked it. Bring your wife!

    Thanks, I appreciate that.
