As for the catholic poster above with the “wiken” brother, what kind of chance do you have to become proficient in writing when you grow up with trees “lying around the house”? That must have been an awful childhood.

Especially since she says it was their christmas tree for “eight years or so”. The family must have been either fairly poor, very frugal, extremely lazy, or fond of fire hazards.

You know, I’m so used to all the poor spelling in the forums, I don’t even see it anymore. It is quite appalling, however. I usually try to keep in mind that lots of posters just don’t do spell check, or are in a hurry, or are from another country; but lately I’m starting to think many of them are just stupid.

Let’s not forget the abysmal grammar and punctuation. And for some reason, the controversy in the schools is over evolution, sex ed, and thinly-disguised prayer?!? Sheesh…

Actually, I was less appalled by the misspelling of “Wiccan” than I was by the misspelling of “altar.”

Once again, we have to know more about their religion than they do.

And the funny thing is, the Bible is filled with astrotheology, magicians, seers, etc etc. Thing is, all this has been covered up for centuries.

You have to remember that fundy Christians and Catholics really believe that all non-Christian religions are run by Satan as a trick to lure people away from the truth of Jesus Christ.

Witches, mediums, astrologers and sorcerers are warned against specifically in the KJV bible. A certain kind of Christian does not just dismiss the modern-day versions as charlatans and scam artists (as they ought to) they actually think these guys do real dark magic, powered by lucifer and his demons.

I noticed the spelling too and that doesn’t help his case concerning his lack of knowledge about Wiccan. It makes it even worse. Obviously he has had no REAL education nor has he done any inquiring for himself. He has let others tell him everything.

Oh brother! The first person has a misconception about Wiccans. I have a friend who is Druid Wiccan Pagan. They aren’t really worshipping trees. However the wreath is Pagan. No one has gone over to the Dark Side either. It’s just a different way of worshipping gods and no the trees aren’t the gods. It’s very long and complicated to explain but this person does not have the full details of the worship service.

However, I see no sin in hanging a wreath, regardless of it’s origins, if one wants to hang it.
