Show me one atheist Republican govonor running a heavy democratic state with a great record and more than 50% approval rate, plus re-elected twice and I’ll vote for him/her.

I think Bjorn is saying if an atheist calls Huckabee out for being a fundy, that is persecution and therefore he is a good Christian. If a prominent Christian did the same thing it might be seen differently by his base. The media is in it primarily for ratings and if they called him on his views they might loose viewers, so I don’t think they will ever challenge any nutcase with any populiarity.

Hemant, just because you think his views are absurd, doesn’t mean that the rest of America agrees with you. It’s a virtue to believe the absurd, even in the face of evidence. When you call out his absurdities that can make him a martyr of sorts, without the whole dying bit.
