How is the crucifixion thought provoking and moving? It always brought me to tears wondering how people could be so mean- historical or not (which I don't think it is even though it was a common practice during that time). It is the cruelest possible behaviour of humans. Not only that, it was a human sacrifice, which is even more morbid than an animal sacrifice. None of it is much different than paganism and extremely violent, as well as inhumane. The thought of human beings harming another person in such a manner is barbaric, to say the least and don't give me that bullcrap that God did it. Sorry, but that never did fly with me, because even in the Bible, it was the humans who did it. It is the worst of human behaviour.

The crucifixtion scene is very moving and the other images are thought provoking, numbers not withstanding.

I have to agree with one or two other comments that the Glue Society's website is appaling.

Of course, if you consider pickled cows to be art you would probably love it!

Needs more blur. These images are too in-focus to be mistaken for Google Earth shots.

Those might be ants down there doing the crossing...

I can't quite make out the peaceful dinosaurs in the garden of Eden. They must be under the trees.

I assume the crucifixion scene would have been more like the scene at the end of Life of Brian.

I always wondered about the repercussion of the mass of all the water necessary to fill the oceans up to the mountain peaks and how that might have changed or altered the orbit of the Earth around the sun... But I guess in those days, the Earth WAS at the center of the universe.

I like that the Garden of Eden looks like northern Michigan in the summer. :)

And yeah, there should be more people at the Crucifixion and at the Red Sea for that matter. Whether you think the Exodus account ought to be translated 600,000 or 60,000 (I lean towards the latter), there still needs to be a lot more people on the ground there.

Looks like it was tough to get anyone to show up at your crucifixion. Hope Jesus had a better turn out at his bar mitzvah.

I pictured more goo on the floor of the Red Sea, more grass in the Garden of Eden, and more people around Jesus at the crucifixion...

These are cool pictures. At first I was thinking it was kinda stupid to fake satellite photos of Biblical events, but from comments on the site linked above it looks like part of their point may be to point out how reliable we assume satellite photos to be.

I preferred their melting ice cream truck sculpture...
