I guess Possummomma made a full recovery. Someone in need of medical grade UV film certainly shouldn't be out in the sun. Check it out:

I'm sure you won't post my comment because you don't want people to know the truth.

I'm a friend of the p-family.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just buy curtains? For that matter, you can buy UV film for windows at Lowes or Home Depot for a very reasonable price. We did the whole house when we moved in for less than $100.00.

K, I know. It seems like it would be cheaper to do that. However, after several of us have talked to her doctor and a lady at the lupus foundation, we were given tips that led to our choosing the more expensive product. HomeDepot and Lowes do not sell medical grade UV film. What Berlzebub has lined up with 3M is specifically designed to be used in homes with sun intolerant patients. What sells at hardware stores is for reducing glare and protecting home contents. In some cases it does not stop all damaging components of our sun's light. We also hit a road block because of her windows. The home they live in has dual paned windows with argon pumped between the glass panes. The HomeDepot rep wouldn't guarantee that the film would work with the windows. He also said that what they sell isn't guaranteed against damage from the elements that make Bakersfield difficult (up to 100 days of 100+ heat and blinding sand storms). The 3M rep has guaranteed us a lifetime warranty. He will go back and fix it if there's any problem (according to Berlzebub). There's no sense in paying every donator's hard earned money on a product that could be destroyed in months. Curtains are a great idea. On top of our efforts, a woman in Bakersfield has offered to sew special curtains for the garage in case Pmomma wants to watch the kids play outside. She has taken the expense upon herself. It sounds really cool. She is using blackout material with UV reducing plastic to make windows by which Pmom can keep eyes on kids.
I understand the skepticism. It's a good question.

as someone who used to (and still does sometimes) suffer from light sensitivity, I can totally sympathize. Thanks for letting us know about this.
