there is no cover charge! but the bar is cash only.

it is open to everyone, and as far as age range.... whatever the age range is of skepchick's and friendly atheist's readers in the chicago area. so 21 - 90.

if you're 90 though, you better kick serious ass on guitar hero.

I work till 9, so I don't think so. The earliest time I would be in the city is 10:15ish, maybe, and by the time I found parking, it would be midnight.

Not to sound crass, but: Is there a cover charge? I usually do not have cash with me.

I don't believe there is a cover charge...

What’s the likely age range? I imagine it’s open to everyone, but I don’t want to be the creepy old guy.

I think there'll be people of all ages, but I think the "older" crowd at the party might hover around 40. I could be very wrong, though.

Alternative?!? You mean you don't want to be here on Friday for Richard Dawkins, and then stay for the Saturday morning workshops and then drive back (Google Maps says it's only 6 hrs 40 mins from city to city). If you get back in the car and come back after the party you could make it for the Sunday morning debate. I'd suggest car pooling so you can switch off on driving, and save on gas.

I don't understand how there can be so much activity in cities in which I do not live and cannot plausibly travel to, and yet here I am in one of the largest and most liberal cities in one of the biggest states in the MidEast/West (Ohio), right next to the university where Lawrence Krauss works, for goodness sakes, and no pharyngulite/FA/Skepchick parties are ever announced.

And, before anyone asks, I suck at planning parties: I'm only good at mooching off of other people's parties. :)
