amen to this! I’m glad Pat Condell is speaking out on this. I hope to see more about Islam on here and other atheist websites. It’s a huge and the biggest growing threat and more people need to speak out against it. Other religions get on my nerves, but Islam scares the hell out of me. It’s time for atheists to STOP ignoring Islam.

I like him too and agree, Islam should be held to the same scrutiny as any other religion and criticized just the same esp if it is well founded and with Islam, it generally is. The Quran alone is very vile in how it teaches prejudice, hatred, violence, etc. and therefore, IMHO, it deserves to be critized and people made aware as to what it says. Oh, yes. There are some brainwashed Muslims, even some who haven’t read their own book, who say it’s misunderstood or the text is taken out of context, but that is no more true than it is with Xianity.

Truth be told, my irony meter started going through its pre-ignition sequence when he started talking about how Muslims criticizing his culture should be prosecuted as a hate crime. But I think… I think that was his intent. (My poor irony meter has been going through so much abuse lately.)

I think his point of muslims wanting to protect blasphemy concerning islam is a big deal. It’s ok to criticize islam if you want free speech and freethought.
