J Myers: Oh, I’m familiar with the idea. The US Bible Belt really is another planet.

I guess this is part of the reason why I don’t understand the “New Atheists” from the UK. Yeah, there’s an established church there, and I have problems with that, but really, at least there’s no “evolution is a lie” posters, right?

(Though I guess there’s some precedent. A friend of mine was one of those at the front of the opposition to Ken Ham in Australia back in the day. He was one of the first people ever I met who explicitly used the phrase “Christian skeptic” to describe themselves; it’s thanks to him that I use the title of myself.)

I don’t find this funny.

I think the reason is that I don’t live in the US, so I’ve never seen a billboard like that.

Sure, Erin is gay, but does she have to drive a fagbug all around with the word fag on it? It’s like she’s so aggressive!

Darryl – you may be reading more into my inability to draw than I intended, but I can’t honestly say I really thought about what they were driving. Or any of the other stuff. But looking at it again, it certainly looks like it could be a motor home, so it can be if you want.

Am I wrong, or is this sweet couple driving a gas-guzzling motor home across country, paid for by a social security check that hasn’t been reduced because they’re sheltering their assets (also why they didn’t marry–they’re just living in sin) as they pig out at every convenient fried-food smorgasbord. Praise Jesus and pass the meatballs!
