Campaign to Depopularize Pro-Evolution Videos

Greg Courtney has created a couple very popular videos on YouTube critiquing the embarrassment that is the Creation Museum.

Like this one:

If you searched YouTube for “Creation Museum” or “fossils,” his videos would come up near the top of the list as they were very highly rated.

Now, it seems Creationists have staged a campaign to discredit him by low-ranking his videos. Instead of the 5-star rating he used to have, the video seen above now has 3. The second part of that same video now has 2 stars.

If you’d like to help counter the Creationist surge, you can check out his videos and, if you think they’re worthy, rank them high.

I don’t know if you’ve read the book called “The Devil in Dover,” but it’s really a great book. While it covers the Dover PA intelligent design trial, it’s also the author’s struggle with faith. One of the determining factors for her was the deceit that people of faith will use to support their position.

This smacks of the same type deceit.

Hola. I’m Carly, a long time lurker, but I’ve never posted before.

I just thought I should take this very appropriate moment to pimp the Demonbaby blog (my favorite blog after this one). The current blog entry is all about the author’s trip to the creation museum. The entry is kind of long, but it is worth the read. It is truly hilarious.

Ugh, YouTube. There’s lots of assholes who comment on that site. I don’t just mean religious/political videos; anything. Watch a video that happens to have the Eiffel Tower in it, get French-bashing in the comments section, things like that.

I suggest to Mr. Courtney that he put these videos on his own website (if he has one) or somewhere else. Anywhere but YouTube.

this post makes me laugh. Why do we feel the need to disprove and prove everything to everyone? I sometimes wish we would all just shut up and live life contributing to something bigger.

They will tell any lie, they will twist any fact. Truth means nothing to them. I often think of the south park easter episode where the character who looks like carl rove kills jeasus because christ isn’t christian enough. It really made a point about the christian right that can be best made through comedy. Mr Mehta aren’t you supposed to be away this weekend. I assumed you were having fun. Go, get laid, have fun. Shoo.

  • Gabriel

    Mr. Mehta,
I am sorry to bother you about this again. I clicked on an ad to support your site and was taken to a creationist site. Does this mean that the creationist will be charged and some of that money will filter to you? I hope so. That would be so cool.

Urgh, now comments that are civil and complimenting the movies are being marked as spam.

    Gabriel,

Mr Mehta aren’t you supposed to be away this weekend. I assumed you were having fun. Go, get laid, have fun. Shoo.

On my infrequent visits inside the ultra secret underground fortress headquarters of Friendly Atheist I have seen that Lord Mehta can pre-load postings with pre-set times for them to be published, sort of a Mr. Blog. This way he can be out wreaking his evil havoc yet his postings are released upon a hapless world with merciless frequency.

Even so, I’m sure he’s never without a laptop with remote internet access. He’s always watching…. :-O

    Fighting ignorance is something bigger.

    Mr. Wade,

Cool. I didn’t know that could be done.

I can’t believe that there are some fellow Christians who actually believe the creation parable was meant to be taken LITERALLY! Strangely, they still try to use to Bible to prove evolution didn’t happen but have stopped using the Bible to prove the earth is flat or that our universe is geocentric.

The joke is on the creationists, because YouTube doesn’t rank videos by how highly they’ve been rated, but simply by how often. So their campaign to 1 star these videos is actually driving up these videos’ rankings. LOL! n00bz!!!

I’d take it as a badge of honor to be dissed by creationists.

    Liars, the lot of them.
