As I have been in the past, I’m impressed with Obama’s ability to build an inspiring speech out of specific policy promises. However … I hope that ‘We may not agree on abortion, but surely we can agree on reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies in this country. ‘ means ‘only good education about contraceptives can prevent unwanted pregnancies’. Obama was not brave enough on that one. Nor was he brave enough to reject the fraud that is ‘clean coal’. (Worst, he listed it first.) He wasn’t brave enough on gay marriage either. And to be on topic, he mentioned God twice. Fortunately, he never mentioned faith.

We don’t belong in Afghanistan, either. Mr. Obama, bring those troops from Iraq HOME!

His talk about how he’s going to be compassionate and pay for it all by closing corporate tax loopholes? Again, not buyin’ it.

My wife was turned off by his attacking McCain. She thought he should just talk about what he’s going to do and cut the negativity.

Oh and BTW, why is Obama always referred to as an African American? Wasn’t his mother caucasian? If he had blonde hair and blue eyes (and his father was still black), would we still call him African American?

Actually, the term truly applies to him, since his father was African. It used to drive me crazy during the O.J. trial when the press would talk about the hair found in the knit cap as being from an “African-American.” No, it was genetically from a black person. We don’t know what the nationality or heritage of that person was. African, Haitian, American, etc.
Also, Obama has chosen to identify himself with the black community.

The irony, and a delicious one at that, is that the DNC skybox of of F*cks Noise – every Fundy Mental Case’s favorite “news” channel – got a monsoon the other day in the form of its sprinkler system going off.

Maybe there is a Gawd, and he does answer prayer, but he’s got an awesomely diabolical sense of humor. What a practical joker.

His timing was off though. He should have made it happen during prime time on opening night.
