Why Does This Show Up on the GOP Website…?

If you go to the website for the 2008 Republican National Convention, you can search for videos. Right now, no videos exist since the convention has not yet begun.

But that hasn’t stopped something strange from happening.

When you click on any of the video links (“Main Feed,” “En Español,” etc.)… instead of a video popping up, you get this odd little image instead:

What the heck is that?!

It’s a symbol for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic Virtual Learning Centre in Ontario, Canada:

The Catholic schools of Simcoe County and the District of Muskoka, rooted in a rich tradition of faith, family and community values, are committed to education as lifelong growth. Our response to personal and societal challenges has helped to form a vibrant school system which is resolute in its commitment to academic excellence nurtured within a faith-filled Catholic environment. As communities of faith, Catholic schools are called to be visible signs of Christ in the modern world.

I want to assume this is just a mistake… but when you see a GOP website “accidentally” featuring a symbol of the cross, you can’t blame a person for thinking there’s a stronger connection between the two than either side wants to admit…

That’s probably just left over from teh site the designer filched the Flash code from. They forgot to strip a logo reference out of the source files. My guess, anyway.

If Canadians had already taken over… maybe it would be for good.
Lower crime rates, better access to medical services, not as many issues with evolution at schools…

Let’s give ourselves to Canada. Seriously.

    Holy Crap! (pardon the pun)

That school is in the town where I live…! I wonder what the connection to this is. It would make an interesting news story in our little local paper.

    What the hell?

    I live in this district.

    I’m worried….

Wow, Hemant, there are a lot of Muskoka atheists here. I make three.

That’s cool…Unless they’re from Simcoe or the bad part of Muskoka – Gravenhurst!

I saw a similar thing when looking for homeschooling books once. It was Christianbook.com but they had a ‘free porn clip’ graphic. I captured it here – http://daybydayhsing.blogspot.com/2008/05/weird-find-of-day.html

Another time, soon after and again at Christianbooks.com there were porn pictures inserted. Was someone hacking them or was it as silouan suggested and their developer was also doing porn sites?!

I never did buy anything from them. Even as a Christian I’d stay far away from Christian homeschool suppliers.
