Julia Sweeney‘s blog has been especially fun to read lately because she’s as obsessed with the absurdity that is Sarah Palin as I am.
But I thought this post provided interesting insight into what a former Saturday Night Live star has to say about the new season:
For the first time I really, really wished I were still on SNL because Obama was going to be on it tonight. But now this is cancelled because of the hurricanes. Apparently he will still appear before the election…
…
… And yes, of course I wish I were still on SNL and ten years younger and Tina Fey wasn’t there and I could play Sarah Palin. But Tina is going to nail it. I am so excited to watch tonight.
I’m excited to watch it, too.
On another note, Julia’s co-star on the show, Victoria Jackson, is a fundamentalist Christian who (obviously) supports John McCain:
THANK YOU Thank you President George W. Bush (along with God above) for keeping us safe these last 7 years, from terrorist attacks on our homeland. I really appreciate it very much. xxoo You did a Great job!
And, Thank you God above for giving us George W. Bush, and for giving us John McCain and Sarah Palin.
…
Why am I voting for the fantastic McCain/Palin ticket? Simply because my “world view” is based on the belief that The Bible is the inerrant, holy, Word of God, and the Republican stance on abortion, marriage, government control, taxes, education, health care, charity, military, defense, democracy and freedom — lines up closest with the Bible’s message.
Amazing how Julia and Victoria were once colleagues…
