Well, I don’t know about the whole state of Alaska, but my friend Sam(antha) actually had a good reason for voting for Stevens. She didn’t really like the Democratic candidate, but if Stevens wins, the Senate will expel him anyway, and maybe they’ll get someone she can really get behind in the special election that would be held.

A few days late…

Hey, don’t blame the entire state of Minnesota for Bachmann’s reelection. Just blame those living in the 6th District. Believe me, if I lived there, I wouldn’t have voted for her.

And no matter the outcome in Alaska, the Senate doesn’t want Stevens back due to this conviction and it seems he wasn’t that popular in the Senate compared to up in Alaska. So, if it turns out he did win, the Senate essentially wants to expel him, they don’t like him so much. I’m hoping he gets defeated so the Dems get another seat.

Also, I’m disappointed in California as well. To think they were thought of as being very liberal… *shakes head in disbelief*

Well, the country is definetly in capable hands now. Obama isn’t perfect but, I’m glad he won because of the positive change it marks for the USA.

Oh and to TxAtheist, thanks for the hat tip because I voted for Hagan. Even my super-conservative mom was talking about how (in her exact words), “Dole’s Godless shit” backfired on her and that made me laugh.

I’ve been listening to the secular, godless, and humanistic groups for a while. Keep talking, guys (and girls, if you don’t understand guys as a neutral term) because people are listening.

It seems there is a *whole* lot of votes “missing” in Alaska. Stevens was down *22 points* just before the election…

There were fewer voters in Alaska than in 2004, even though one of their own was running for VP?

*Lots* of other weird stuff going on there. Something screwy is up.

loved the video. It made me all emotional again. We were in a Hilton lobby, maybe 60-70 or less of us here in NW Florida and everyone lost it! We were cheering and hollering. It was so great. Unbelievable. I cried. Just a wonderful moment. I was so nervous these last 2 weeks. Watching the video chokes me up.

Hemant, thanks so much for the play by play and for the video! I got excited all over again. We moved away from Chicago a little over two years ago, and that we missed that night is seriously breaking my heart. But I have loved reading the accounts of my friends and other bloggers who were lucky enough to attend. So inspiring.

North Carolina became a Blue State, Liddy Dole, heir to Jessie Helm’s Senate seat, was defeated. And long time House member Robin “liberals hate real Americans who love god” Hayes lost his reelection bid. It was a good night here in NC to be a progressive!
