An Atheist’s Vanity Plate

We know some people on the Religious Right want to see their home states inject religious beliefs or moral values on every license plate.

Atheists don’t go that route. It seems we prefer vanity plates — a personalized way to express yourself.

This new one from an atheist in North Carolina is no exception:

I guess the ATHEIST plate was taken…

Anyway, I wonder how long it’ll take before his car gets vandalized…

On a side note, a lot of readers have been sending me links to this one… (they know me well). I don’t know if it’s an atheist’s car, but the person shares my sense of humor:

I just finished a giant post of examples of different reasons people use bumper stickers, etc. on the forum. I’ve got like, a billion examples posted.

I don’t know that the first example would get vandalized… I have to admit, I had to look at it for a good 30 seconds before I realized it said “Godless” because of the number substitutions. Confused people will probably assume it’s a Christian’s car and the number 1355 means something to them, lol.

Most people over 30 – unless they have some close association with computers (like me) – would not read ‘1355’ as ‘less’.

Yeah. I’m way over 30 and I didn’t get it.

Yeah, I didn’t get that plate either. It’s pretty obscure. The plate on my (WA) truck reads INFIDL and I have a Darwin Fish on the back too. So far (years) no problems, even in right-wing, Xian-church-on-every-corner Spokane.

Normally I despise vanity plates, but the “EAT THE” one was hilarious. Very clever.

OK I will admit that “Eat the” plate was hilarious. But that’s the only one of those stupid baby-eating posts that I find funny.
