A bit sad and strange that “goldfish” was removed. Don’t children (other than my own) have goldfish any more?

Or is it that they all have neon tetras and angel fish these days? Aha – “angel” wasn’t one of the words removed, was it? That must be it.

WTF is it with the wingnuts who want to literally control the entire world? Can’t they just buy a “Fundiespeak Dictionary” and be done with it? I just don’t understand the need and desire to control every book, magazine, movie, TV show, etc. in the world.

But then again I don’t think I’m in sole possession of The Truth, as some do. That could be why.

I can’t wait for a notable Conservative Commentator(TM) to compare this to the scene in 1984 where they take words out of the English language in an effort to remove certain concepts from the public consciousness.

Oh, and they should probably throw in a Nazi comparison for good measure.

That would require them to have actually read 1984. There’s something about the authoritarian mindset that doesn’t truck with no book larnin’.

As a Christian, I would say that Mr. Colson has missed the Main Deal involved with following Jesus.

Love God

Love others

If there’s a choice between inflicting or receiving violence, the latter is preferred over again the former.

And, if ever there was anything that was a “speck in the neighbor’s eye”- his words in the dictionary fit. Oops, got to go… seems I have to remove a 2 by 4 from my left eyeball.

I’m fairly sure I read the post by Erin Manning on the Crunchy Con Beliefnet blog a few months ago. At the time I replied why worry, electronic media allows access to a dictionary with all words with page flipping.
