Atheist Bus Campaign Launches in Indiana

You can help put pro-atheism advertising on buses in a state that could really use it.

The Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign has officially launched!

If you’d like to donate to make this a reality, you can do so here.

A note: this is just a handful of people making this happen. Anyone can do it in their own communities — if you’d like to lead an atheist bus campaign of your own, leave a comment and I’ll direct you to the right people.

SWEET – this is my town! Thank you!

Bloomington’s probably the only city in this state where this campaign has a chance to succeed. For those who aren’t from around here it’s home to Indiana University and traditionally fairly liberal. And I love their slogan as it’s something I’ve been saying for years.

Bloomington’s not the only city in the Hoosier state where this campaign could be a success. I’m sure that there are plenty of religious skeptics in Indianapolis or Fort Wayne or Evansville too, albeit hiding under the rocks in some instances.

Isn’t the goal of this campaign to raise awareness? Where could it be better to raise awareness than where it is minimal?

There are atheists and agnostics everywhere.

Why stick to only those places where some think that efforts will be “successful”?

I think this campaign is a great idea and I hope it is wildly “successful”. ;)

We’re definitely interested in helping anyone in the Fort Wayne, Indy, or elsewhere get started. In fact, I’m moving back to Fortress over this summer and will probably start pestering the local freethinkers about it.

This might happen in Indianapolis, but I live near Ft. Wayne and can’t really see it happening there. But regardless, this is the second time this year my state has surprised me by making me proud.

Just sent in my donation. Hope it spreads!

I’m not sure my little community of Lynchburg, VA would tolerate this without the responsible parties being tarred and feathered…

Oh, fear the elderly christians coming for the attack!
Oh, how the lowly younger generation trembles at the sight and sounds of the coming christian masses on hover-rounds!
