The Origins of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Guess what this is?

originalfsm

It’s not just any random picture of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and His domain.

It’s the original conception.

Prophet Bobby Henderson recently found it among his things:

I found *the* original drawing. It was in a box in my car, where I keep all my most valuable things. The Smithsonian people should put this up somewhere, am I right? How do we make that happen, internet?

Anyone else find that as interesting as I do?

I think it would also be fascinating to see Sam Harris‘ first draft of The End of Faith and the original cardboard paper cutouts of the South Park characters.

Copy the drawing onto a golden tablet that can only be viewed with special glasses while looking into a hat. Then bury it in your suburban backyard and forget it for a few decades. Then hide it again but this time in an enormous temple guarded so well that nobody ever gets to see it so that people argue whether it ever existed at all.

Meanwhile, take the paper one and put it into a big clay pot and hide it in a desert cave to decompose into little flakes, so that centuries later preparators at a special museum can painstakingly put it all back together, but not let scientists or scholars see it unless they kiss the curator’s ass.

It needs a jeweled reliquary, with golden noodly appendages, and gem-encrusted meatballs. Then his chosen people (us pirates) can make pilgrimages to it and offer it grated Parmesan! RAmen!

In all seriousness; it DOES have its place in a museum.

It’s like the Dead Sea Scrolls of Atheism.

Original conception? Don’t you mean divine revelation?

    FSM works in mysterious ways.

The holy parchment of the Pastafarians has been revealed…

  • ash

he should sell it and write a book. how about ‘I Sold My FSM on Ebay’?

    I bid 10,000 Quatloos.

It should be placed in a golden ark and carried by the pastafarian priests into battle.

I think if they did so and circled Westboro Baptist Church 7 times, the building would fall down.

  • Larry Huffman

You know…I agree. While I know the Smithsonian comment was a joke…I think it does deserve museum status.

A pastafarian museum would be at least as much fun as a creationist museum…and infinately more credible.

The drawing should be claimed to be 2000 years old like the Shroud of Turin is claimed by some. If the Christian can have their fake religious item, so can the Pastafarians.

Larry- the procession must needs be counter-clockwise around the church, to unwind it. It sure ain’t wound right.

I’m much more fascinated by the role of the midgit in the drawing than the flying monster! Who is the midgit? What is he doing in the drawing? Why is he there? Is he an atheist? Does anyone care?

You’re starting to sound like a heretic. I’m pretty sure mentions of “midgits” are a part of the Apocrypha, rejected by the Council of Some Guys in 2006 A.D. (Al Dente)

It’s very simple. The Gospel says: “In the beginning, the Flying Spaghetti Monster created a mountain, some trees and a midgit”. Since our theory of Intelligent Falling (gravity is a lie) tells us that His Noodly Appendages are what holds us down on the earth, and that they also make us short, the midgit is obviously specially blessed. This theory also explains why people have historically been increasing in height – as there are more and more of us, the Noodly Appendages are more spread out and cannot push us down as hard!
    RAmen!

Wait… there is really something to this! An FSM church building (with tax-exempt status and everything) should be established, and this “parchment” should be placed in a Torah-like scroll holder at the front!

  • Zhatt

I completely agree a FSM “church” should be started. Who is the government to say what is and isn’t a religion? In any case, it’s a large, worldwide community that should be supported.
