I am curious, however, about what the Catholic schools here in Ontario might be teaching (or more to the point, not teaching). Many thanks to every teacher (and parent) who deals honestly and informatively about this challenging subject. I dread having "the talk" (plus all the subsequent talks) with my daughters but I will make sure that they have the facts they need to make informed choices. I sincerely hope we go back to putting condoms on nanners. I work with these kids and so often hear the same, lame myths I grew up with (ie-can't get pregnant your first time) and they're having all sorts of sexual dilemmas (ie-still a virgin because I only have unprotected anal sex) because of this abstinence only craziness being pushed at them. I'm so glad to hear that this is no longer being funded and truly hope that we will begin approaching our teens and pre-teens with the same maturity and sensibility that they should expect from their educators.
