Power in Iran belongs to the Ayatollahs – the president only has the power that they cede to him. A sham election for a sham office seems appropriate.

Whereas, in the US we still can’t figure out the Minnesota Franken/Coleman recount that started back in November.

The Minnesota recount was figured out long ago. Franken is the winner. Its just wasteful frivolous court challenges that have been going on for close to six months. The election to compare with Iran is the 2004 election in the U.S. See Brad Blog for all the ironies:

Okay, what bugs me here is that (from the news snippets I’ve seen) they appear to be using some sort of paper, handwritten, non-machine countable ballot… and were able to count the lot of them in less than a day. Whereas, in the US we still can’t figure out the Minnesota Franken/Coleman recount that started back in November.
