Living in Los Angeles, perhaps the most Godless city in the country, most of our congress people are already opposed to this rediculous bill. I just want to applaud them for their stance. Religion is probably the most destructive element in the American society. I personally oppose anything that promotes its continuance.

Oh, I agree completely. I, too, am in Texas, so I am quite cynical about the whole situation myself. But I know that, at the polls, an atheist vote carries just as much weight as a religionist vote — and I am hoping that the politicians know it, too. Even if they don’t really want to do anything for us, significant pushback should make most of them much less willing to blatantly go against us, just to avoid alienating us so that we vote against them.

I sent my ~~idiot~~ representative a letter. It will do no good at all because he is one of the brainless co-sponsors. What do you expect from Texas where religion is a ring in the nose of the non-thinkers. These people, including the political pawns, will do anything that their religious leaders suggest regardless of what it is. It’s disgusting!
