101 Damnations

Looks like there are currently 101 people signed up with the Secular Student Alliance to join PZ Myers on a tour through the Creation Museum!

All the info is here if you’d like to join us!

I’m terrified that we’re going to get kicked out >_>

  • Beth B.

    @Jennifurret: Don’t you mean…expelled?

  • Richard Wade

Admission is $29.95 for individual adults. The group rate is $16.95 each. That means that so far, at the group rate, they will be donating $1,728.90 to the Creation Museum.

    Is this trip really necessary?

I’m sure I could enjoy much better comedy closer to home for a lot less money, and not have to be donating it to The Temple of Ignorance.

  • Welkie

The only thing wrong with this is the money they will get for admission. *shudder*

Actually, we got the discount down to $10/person.

    Still, I get your point.

I think the publicity that will come from this (for the side of reason and science) will be worth the money they’ll make from us.

Even figuring for the $10 rate SSA managed to get, that’s still $1010 to Answers in Genesis. If that bothers you, you could offset it with a $1010 donation to the SSA…

I agree that the publicity you get will be worth the money you give to them. Take a reporter with you :)

I am looking forward to hearing all about it. I am waaaaay away in Ken Ham’s native country of Australia (my deepest apologies for producing this shmuck). I cannot WAIT for the series of debunking youtube videos, blog posts and newspaper coverage this will get. I think $1010 is a small price to pay for the chance to give the creation museum the ridicule it so richly deserves. Getting kicked out will only make them look worse. Good luck, folks that are going!

I wish I could go but it is too far and too expensive for me. I hope someone will be getting/posting audio/video/pictures.

I’m sure it will. Pay no mind to my curmudgeon side. I look forward to the reviews, the exposes and the spoofs. Maybe hearing enough about it will satisfy people’s curiosity.

Uh, no, it doesn’t bother me. Really. It’s fine. Good idea. :)

Count me in too! See you there…

Personally, I think the news that could generate would be great. Alas, it is unlikely, as we won’t be the first secular group going. The SSA from Indiana University went a while back.

Just be well behaved. You don’t want this to turn into a propaganda windfall for the creationists.

  • Alycia

My husband got his t-shirts yesterday, mine should be coming any day now. I’m so freaking stoked…
