God made Chris do that because Rhianna is a devil worshipper and Chris is a Christian. It would never work out!

The apple apparently doesn't fall far from the tree.
she's ignorant, it's no surprise her son goes around beating women to a pulp
they both make me sick and his music sucks anyway

Beat your girlfriend, rape your wife. Apparently, it’s all good if you’re a xian

yeh, the bible loves that stuff.

When the angels came to visit Lot before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the townsmen insisted Lot hand them over so that they "may know them" (yes, in that special man on man way). So Lot rufuses to hand over the angels, but happily offers up his daughters - both virgins.

so....of course God is resposible for Chris beating Rihanna.

so sad and funny at the same time

"So… the goodness of God is seen through domestic abuse? (No, really, can anyone explain that to me?)"

That's easy, it's in the Bible. God is always beating the shit out of people to show his goodness.

This all goes back to how religion has a firm grasp on the black community. Religion, particularly xtianity, has blood on its hands from the destruction of black men. Most black men are like Brown, DBR (destroyed beyond recognition) with their mothers and girlfriends/wives lending a hand in their own demise by way of these damaged black men. And the ones who call on their god or claim to be holy-rollers are precisely the ones who are bringing our community down. It's because they refuse to take responsibility for their own actions due to being encouraged by community leaders (who are almost always preachers) to lay it at their god's feet.

Had dinner with a religifriend just this week and he argued me down when I told him that yes, he IS worthy of EVERYthing and that if I ever heard any of his children utter that they aren't worthy of this world I'd correct them on the spot because no black child will ever be self-depreciative on MY watch. He'd claimed that he's not worthy of anything at all because he is a sinner and his jeebis did not have to do anything for him. When religion teaches a people who are historically and horribly oppressed that they are not worth one cent, it destroys the capacity of that group of people to elevate themselves out of their own shit.

And, it makes this atheist black woman sick.

And that translation is utterly without merit.

But, more to the point, Jon’s comment still doesn’t make sense, even using that translation.

The Bible admits that Jehovah brings out evil and disaster. ‘God has the power to do a lot of things’ is a non sequitur as an answer to this.

Who, exactly, does she think was waiting around supporting Chris Brown?

And not even a word to the victim? Maybe a bit of shame for raising such a piece of shit?

But if a god gets credit for making things better, then a god deserves blame for allowing him to beat a woman in the first place.

But that logical loop never gets closed in the fundy's mind.

It's maddening to see examples of this over and over and over again.

Just recently I was reading a hard-luck article about folks who've lost their jobs, homes and life savings in the economic/mortgage crisis.

A quote from one of the women interviewed went something like, "From now on, I'm not trusting anybody but God."

Wow. God apparently "allowed" her to get into this mess, but he's still trustworthy. Why? The logic never seeps into a mind like that because it is blocked out by wishful thinking and years of indoctrination.
